Well it’s after Shavout ( the holiday of weeks ) and Alan’s shiva period was only 3 days due to the holiday not seven.

I think Alan would have been glad almost grateful, because he didn’t want to bother people. We all know feel opposite, but that’s how he would have said things.

Although I am not a family member, I feel a member member has been taken away. I thought about it and realized that I won’t have my bi-weekly calls from Alan.

Who am I going to depend on for un bias opinions. Well except when it came to President Obama, who Alan didn’t hold back on his opinion ( he was so happy Obama won I thought he was going to have a baby).

Alan helped me out on may situations that I was in and didn’t know what to do.

Funny thing he was tight on everyone. He was like the deli lama , except he wore pants and lived Jon Hess.

I also didn’t think the Deli Lama wanted to live on a ranch.

I do believe that if Alan met the Deli, they would have been fast friends. I wish I had mentioned it to him.

Although I think when the Deli Lama had called his house, Jon would have answered and ordered a Rueben sandwich, Although another story.

Well Alan, it’s hard for me to comprehend all this. It’s hard to believe that I was at your shiva house today. I saw your pictures on the

book cases and watched you smile at everyone.

I miss your smile and your laugh.

I sit here and think what your sister Ilene said at your funeral. She’s right what she said.

Alan there something about you that changes people.

Animals follow you as well as people.

Alan I always say they are people who study Torah, but don’t live it.

So I understand that you may not read this because your cable may not be hooked up yet.

I wouldn’t get Fios, I think it costs more.


Comcast is lousy, so I’m hoping you can get “Angel Direct Cable” service. As an angel your self, you should get a good deal.


I know you’ll understand, but I hope it will take along time before I meet you.

But when I get there, I’ll need cable myself to watch the history channel and the animal channel with you.

I’m sure with your angel connections you can “ hook me up” with your cable company.

Get it “ hook me up”.

Maybe it’s a good idea you haven’t gotten cable yet.

Well today sucked. My name is Jeffrey Cohn and I have had the honor of being a friend of Alan Greenbaum who just passed away.

Due to time at this moment, I’ll make it quick.

Did I mentioned today sucked ?


All of Alan’s relatives and friends were there at Sol Levinson the funeral home where speeches were made to honor Alan Greenbaum.

If it were up to Alan, we’d all be at a restaurant or an amusement park, instead of the funeral home. Alan wouldn’t want everyone crying over him, but instead having fun.

His sister Ilene made a beautiful speech about Alan as well as his friend “ Waz”, his nephew Arie , his Uncle, and the Rabbi.

If I got up their to speak ( good thing I didn’t ), I wouldn’t have been so graceful and so beautiful as the others who spoke.

If I was allowed to speak, I would say this day sucks!


Matter of fact Alan leaving us to go the other world sucks!

How can he go without us ?

Missing him would be an understatement.


I’m going to stop, because right now I’m a little upset and I may say something I would regret.
